Symposium on the Philippines-Japan Relations
In celebration of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year which commemorates
the 50th Anniversary of the normalization of the diplomatic relations
between the Philippines and Japan, the Japan Information and Cultural
Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan, the Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) and
Yuchengco Center is holding a two-day Symposium entitled,“The Philippines-
Japan Relationship in an Evolving Paradigm”on March 8 and 9 2006
(Wednesday and Thursday) at Room 508 / 509, Yuchengco Hall, De La Salle
University.
The Symposium is an opportunity to learn more about recent studies
on the Philippines-Japan relations by outstanding Filipino as well
as Japanese scholars and researchers through cultural, political and
historical perspectives. Ambassador Ryuichiro Yamazaki (Embassy of
Japan in the Philippines) will deliver an introductory speech before
the morning session of Day 1. The Symposium program is as follows:
